Kim Chiu’s newest movie under Star Cinema “The Ghost Bride” has already earned around P51.5 million in a span of one week!
The movie directed by veteran director Chito Roño is about a story of a poor young woman named Mayen who was persuaded to marry a dead person for money. The movie is also rich in Chinese culture.
It received a Rated A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, which stands for excellent quality as adjudged by the board’s evaluators.
It opened in theaters nationwide on November 1, Wednesday and earned 14.3 M on its opening day. Despite the presence of competitions ‘Spirits of the Glass 2’, ‘Jigsaw’ and Hollywood blockbuster film ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, Ghost Bride’s success was not hindered.
The Cebuana actress told the press that she’s very happy over the unexpected success of her film. She never thought it would be a huge hit. She even said that she was just hoping it would at least earn 5M on its opening day since it was raining heavily that time and most people were in cemeteries.
She is now being tagged as the newest Horror Box-Office Queen. Kim Chiu shared online how happy and thankful she is for the box-office success. She thanked her fans and the people who supported her horror movie.
The movie is still showing in more than 200 cinemas nationwide.
